Carol Dahlquist, Executive Director
Carol’s is excited to lead the Foundation Board to fulfilling it’s mission of raising funds and awareness for WindReach Farm. In her role she has the pleasure of reaching out and connecting with potential donors and sponsors to support the valuable work of the Farm. She is passionate about the work we do at WindReach Farm and takes delight in sharing this with our donors and stakeholders in the community.
Carol is committed to working with the Foundation Board as we strive to meet the needs of WindReach Farm through fundraising, community presentations, as well as grant and proposal writing. In addition, she is excited to take the lead in planning the annual fundraising gala – A Night at WindReach Farm – which takes place every September. Carol is fortunate to work with a wonderful team of volunteers on this planning committee.
WindReach Farm is a magical place providing impactful programming for those with special needs and of which there is limited opportunities for in the community, and she is honoured to work at place that brings meaning and joy to these peoples lives every day.

Harry Worsley joined the WindReach Farm Foundation Board in 2015 and has been in the role of Chair for the Foundation over the past year. Harry has been involved with WindReach for many years as his daughter Nicole has been riding in WindReach Farm’s Therapeutic Riding program for over 12 years.
He sees the value and impact that WindReach has had on his daughter and family and is committed to reaching out in the community to bring together partners in support of the programs and services provided by WindReach Farm.
Harry is owner of Uxbridge Nurseries Limited, a wholesale grower of nursery stock on 750 acres in Durham Region. Harry has been involved with many service clubs in Uxbridge over the years and was a past Councillor of Uxbridge Township. Harry is an enthusiastic outdoors men and lives in the country with his wife and three children.
Glenn Healy joined the Foundation Board in 2017. Glenn is a former ice hockey goaltender who played for 15 years in the National Hockey League. Prior to that, he was a member of the Western Michigan University hockey team, and 1985 graduate of the school. He also served as the director of player affairs for the National Hockey League Players’ Association.
Glenn is also lead piper and organizer of the Highland Creek Pipe Band which plays at many community events and fundraiser in Durham Region.
Glenn is a huge supporter in our community and has a strong believe in giving back to organizations like WindReach Farm who provide meaningful and life changing experiences to those who have limited options in our community.
Ken Joined the Foundation Board in 2018 after spending a few months on WindReach Farm’s Board where he gained a great understanding of all the many programs and services that WindReach Farm offers to those of all ages and abilities. He learned first-hand how impactful these programs are in changing the lives of so many.
As Past President of Ajax Rotary, Ken continues to coordinate the support from the 10 Rotary clubs of Durham Region for WindReach Farm’s key events; Founders Day and A Night at WindReach Farm. Ken has also coordinated the support of the Rotary Clubs of Durham with Grandview Children Centre, Durham College and Durham Para Sport Games. Ken continues to be on the Board of Directors at Ajax Rotary, St David’s Village senior centre, Canterbury Commons Port Perry and drives cancer clients on Tuesdays and Fridays to and from their cancer treatments. With years of Rotary and specifically fundraising experience Ken is put his skills to use on the Foundation Board and raise funds to support the Farm.
Larry James has long been active in the community, both through his work as President of James Campbell Insurance, and through past service as President of the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation, the Kinsmen Club and as Director for Uxbridge Minor Hockey. After a friend introduced him to the impact of WindReach Farm, he dedicated himself to the Foundation Board, where he has served since 2016. Larry is an avid traveler who enjoys time at the cottage with his family, including his newly-arrived first grandchild.
Kim recently joined the Foundation Board in June of 2019. Kim has lived in Uxbridge since 1987, although he lived in Calgary for a number of years before returning to Uxbridge. Prior to moving to Calgary Kim was on the board of the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Kim is a Trustee on a large First Nations Trust in Alberta as well as on the board of “Open to Grow” a microcredit facility with a focus on women in Central America.
A graduate of McGill University with a BSc in Geology he also holds a Diploma in International Business from Sophia University in Tokyo. While he has lived and worked overseas, the bulk of his career has been in finance and investment counseling, with the last years as a partner with Jarislowsky Fraser. Through 25 years of experience with race horses at Woodbine he became familiar with the use of retired horses for therapeutic riding. Kim is interested in how the riding program impacts individuals and equally how our programs impact individuals with various levels of dementia.
Kim and his wife, MG, have between them 5 children and 11 grandchildren now scattered over three continents; North America, Europe, Africa and the UK.
Dr. Gary Polonsky, I.C.D
Dr. Gary Polonsky, a native of Thunder Bay, served students for 42 years, across five institutions in five provinces, and over half of those years as a president. In 1988, Dr. Polonsky became President of Durham College, a position he held until March 31, 2006. In 2001, Dr. Polonsky became Founding President of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) as he remained President of Durham College, making him the only Canadian to have been President concurrently of both a college and university. Paul C. Sullivan, B.Sc.(Agr.)
Accessibility, Inclusion and Advocacy – These concepts have been a major focus of Paul’s life for a long time.
Paul’s creative and innovative approach to the work at hand has always been his trademark. His attitude of “start with no, and go from there” has pushed Paul to remove barriers and deliver results beyond expectations – whether in his previous roles as interim Executive Director, WindReach Farm in past years, his current role as a Foundation Board member, or on one of the many committees in which he participates.
Since 1985, when the Farm was acquired, Paul has been integral to WindReach. Combined with his past and present commitments to WindReach Farm, he continues to be involved with WindReach Bermuda, a similar facility with common roots. Paul is a current member of the Board and is a trustee of The WindReach Bermuda Trust.
Paul holds a BSc in Agriculture and Rural Development from the University of Guelph and a Diploma in Agriculture from McDonald College/McGill University. Along with his deep knowledge of farming, he also draws upon the principles of market research and consultation from his early years at Deloitte.
Paul’s consistent mindset, as he works with fellow Board members, donors, staff and stakeholders, is to further the vision – and stay true to the legacy – of the late Founder, Alexander (Sandy) Mitchell, MBE.
Jane lives on a hobby horse farm in Goodwood with her husband John, who runs a successful local business. Together they have raised four boy’s, two professional athletes, and two successful business men. Jane is also blessed with three beautiful grandchildren. Life was pretty busy when all four boys were playing minor rep hockey. Jane always believed in being involved and contributing to their hockey life by managing teams and organizing fundraisers. She brings a wealth of experience with her community involvement and is excited to bring that knowledge to her work on the board.
Janes brother-in-law introduced to her therapeutic riding years ago before WindReach was established. When Jane heard about WindReach, she knew she had to get involved in this amazing community. Jane volunteered in our riding program a number of years ago and we are excited to have her join the board in 2021.
Thomas is the Owner and Broker of Record for Coughlan Realty. Thomas has lived in Durham for over 20 years and lives in Whitby with this wife and two young daughters. He values the community and all that it has to offer. Although he has always been drawn to Real Estate, in part due to his family’s successful development history in the area, he spent the early part of his career in Ottawa working for our local politician as Parliamentary Assistant and Issues Manager.
A graduate from Durham College with a Diploma in Accounting, and UOIT (Ontario Tech) with a Degree in Commerce. He also served as Student President at DC and UOIT for 2 years.
More recently, he served as a Governor on the Board for Durham College.
Thomas is looking forward to putting his knowledge, skills and experience in Durham region to use in working on the board for WindReach Farm Foundation.
Chris Munn – CPA, CA, BBA
Chris is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, receiving his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1990. He focuses on providing accounting advice to owner-managed businesses in the areas of tax, estate planning and international issues. Chris is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and Canadian Tax Foundation. He has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax course, and continually builds on his strong knowledge base by attending topical courses.
Long time resident of Uxbridge, Chris values the community and is very honoured to be able to give back by serving on the Board of WindReach Farm Foundation.
