Harvest of Health Horticultural Therapy Program
Uses gardening and plant-based activities to promote health and improve physical, emotional and cognitive wellness.
An effective therapeutic tool in supporting individuals of all ages living with cognitive, physical and emotional challenges.
Content is highly individualized and is designed to meet individual/group goals and abilities.
All sessions are designed and delivered by a Horticultural Therapist
Sessions are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length and would suit groups of up to 10 individuals.
Program activities are designed to:
exercise the body
teach new skills
encourage a connection to the living, external environment.
improved motor function
reduction in social isolation
improved cognitive skills (memory, sequencing, speech/vocabulary)
Generously funded by a Seed Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, this program is currently FREE of charge for program participants.
We welcome all ages, abilities and experience levels to participate and benefit from this program.
