Annual Appeal 2020

This holiday season help us be the light at the end of tunnel for the people we serve!

Dear Friend,

2020 is a year unlike any other and we need your help now more than ever. WindReach Farm has been profoundly affected by COVID-19. As we slowly and safely bring programs back, we need your support through the tough months ahead while we re-build and start to serve the many individuals with disabilities and mental health issues that participate in our programs.

The pandemic has presented challenges as well as opportunities for WindReach. As we pivot some of our programs to virtual programming, as well as host drive through open houses, we are constantly striving to find creative and impactful ways to serve our participants.

Individuals like Stephanie Coveart, who has found purpose and confidence in our therapeutic riding program. It is at WindReach that Stephanie found both her joy and her vocation riding here for over 15 years. Stephanie has multiple disabilities caused by a rare genetic disorder: epilepsy, global developmental delay, sensory integration disorder, autism. At 28, she could not read or write or live independently. WindReach is a place she is thankful for every day of her life.

“I think WindReach is amazing. When I walk into the barn it is such a lovely feeling. I truly believe that the barn is my second home, my second life. All your worries about trying to be someone go away. When I’m on Buddy, my horse, I feel like I could take on the world. There are many things I can’t do. I can’t read or write or do any of that stuff, but when I get on a horse it feels different; like I’ve found somewhere I belong. If I wasn’t riding, I don’t even know who I would be.”

Please help brighten the light at the end of this tunnel for many more individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges. Fill in the enclosed card today, or go to our website, windreachfarm.org, and click on the donate button – be sure to note 2020 Annual Appeal.
